If you’d like to transfer a domain from one registrar to another, you’ll need to pass through a few safety steps. One of them is getting a unique EPP code from the current domain registrar – provided that you are the domain registrant, since the code is emailed to the domain owner’s email address and no one else can obtain it. You need to give this code to the new registrar, otherwise they will not be able to start the transfer process. The EPP authentication codes are case-sensitive and may contain numbers or special symbols such as dots or commas, which can be easily misentered, so make sure you copy & paste the correct code. As an additional protection measure, the transfer code for a domain may be altered regularly. Some registrars refer to this code as a domain secret, a domain password or an Auth key as well.

EPP Transfer Protection in Hosting

If you have a hosting, you have registered a domain name through our company and you would like to transfer it away from us, you can get its EPP transfer code with less than several mouse clicks. When you sign into your Hepsia Control Panel and navigate to the Registered Domains section, you will see all the domains that you have registered with us listed alphabetically. To the right of each domain name, you’ll see a mini EPP icon for all domain extensions that require an EPP code in order to be transferred between companies. Clicking on the icon will email the code to the domain registrant’s email instantly. In the same section you can also see and eventually modify the email, if the one there is not valid any longer.

EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers

If you want to transfer any domain that is registered under a semi-dedicated server account to another domain name registrar, you can obtain its EPP transfer authorization code with a few clicks from your Hepsia Control Panel. All registered domains will be listed in a separate section of the Control Panel. Quick-access buttons will allow you to use different functions. To obtain the transfer code, you simply need to click the EPP logo, which will be to the right of any domain name whose extension supports transfers with a transfer authorization code. Our system will email the code to the domain name registrant’s email address, which is presently listed in the domain name’s WHOIS record. If needed, you can update this email address from the same section of the Control Panel before requesting the transfer authorization code. The update will take effect momentarily, so you do not have to wait for the new email address to appear on WHOIS lookup websites.
